Tips: Difference among circuit breakers 1P, 1P + N, 2P
Circuit breakers used in single-phase circuit include three types including 1P, 1P + N, 2P.
1. Among them, 1P circuit breaker is used to cut off the firing line and monitor the current on the firing wire, providing protection for the firing line like tripping once the current on the firing line reaches certain rated current.
2. 1P + N circuit breaker is used to cut off firing line and null line, providing protection to the firing line by only detecting the fire line not the null line.
3. 2P circuit breaker is used to cut off firing line and null line and detect the current on them.
Standard lamp circuit is taken the form of 1P or 1P + N circuit break. Socket circuit should be attached with electric leakage protection accessories. Standard five-hole socket is installed with 1P or 1P + N residual current breaker and three-hole socket with 2P residual current circuit breaker.
What does 6kA mean on a circuit breaker?
6,000 amps
The circuit breaker only has to withstand this for a brief period of time, usually the time it takes for the circuit breaker to trip. For example, a value of 6kA means that the circuit breaker can withstand 6,000 amps of current during the brief time it takes to trip.
